Molding Process Optimization Technologist
Job Description
Job DescriptionShape the process. Shape the product.
At M&M Industries, precision and reliability are the backbone of the plastic packaging we deliver. We are seeking a problem‑solver who loves turning complex molding challenges into stable, repeatable processes.
Imagine this
A changeover is on the schedule. You initiate Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), bring in the overhead crane, swap the mold, verify auxiliaries, and start the press. You fine‑tune parameters to hit the cycle, spot a cosmetic defect, isolate the cause, correct it, and log the adjustments. Later, you partner with Engineering to sample a new mold, validate the process, and leave the cell spotless—5S, every time.
Your impact

- Execute die, color, and material changeovers with thorough setup documentation and cross‑team communication.
- Continuously monitor and optimize processes to meet quality standards and production targets.
- Troubleshoot defects, process drift, and equipment problems to restore capability.
- Keep meticulous records of process parameters, changes, and troubleshooting outcomes.
- Safely use a forklift and/or overhead crane for mold pulls and installations.
- Collaborate with Engineering on sample runs for new molds/materials, machine testing, and process validation.
- Contribute to CI projects and maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S.
- Leverage knowledge of different plastic grades to meet customer expectations.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned.
