Located in East County, our medical center is a comprehensive hospital that continually evolves to address the community's expanding needs, providing an award-winning patient experience with a personal touch. We offer a range of services including advanced imaging, a state-of-the-art emergency department, surgical services, intensive care, cancer treatment, gastroenterology, and more.
As a Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, our 29-bed emergency department, renovated in 2010, operates as a cutting-edge facility available 24/7. It caters to a variety of medical needs, from minor issues in the 8-bed Ambulatory Care Unit to critical emergencies. Annually, we care for around 50,000 patients in the suburbs of Portland, with approximately 30% being pediatric cases. Our highly skilled staff provides compassionate care for both children and adults in a family-friendly setting, working closely with Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel and Legacy Emanuel’s centers for trauma and advanced specialty care.
Responsibilities
The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for the direct oversight and coordination of unit operations. This role serves as a model and resource for patient care, providing leadership and fostering team-building among staff. The Charge Nurse facilitates communication among staff, physicians, management, and all other stakeholders, ensuring effective implementation of policies, procedures, and standards.
Qualifications
Education: A degree in nursing (BSN or MSN/MN) is required.
Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience at a proficient to expert level is necessary. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of operations, including staffing and scheduling, budget management, workflow planning, performance management, and staff development.
Skills: The ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities through a self-directed team approach is essential. Strong communication and leadership abilities, along with a commitment to lead by example, are required. Candidates must fulfill the requirements of the RN Staff Nurse Job Description and be prepared to perform duties in any clinical capacity as needed. Proficiency in keyboard skills and the ability to navigate electronic systems relevant to job functions are also necessary.
Licensure
A current state RN license and AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification are required.
Pay Range
Compensation ranges from USD $57.63 to USD $86.08 per hour.
