Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Location: Scarborough, Maine
Pay Range: $30–$45 per hour
Shift Differential: Additional $3.00/hour for night shifts
Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic with 2–3 years of experience to join our expanding team in Scarborough, Maine. The ideal candidate will have experience in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing trucks and heavy equipment. Candidates with an active CDL license are eligible for increased compensation due to their ability to operate vehicles. Prior experience in dealership environments, particularly with diagnostics and preventative maintenance, is highly preferred. This is a first-shift role, Monday through Friday, with optional night shifts available.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trucks and heavy equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting
- Work with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and Caterpillar equipment
- Ensure timely and effective completion of repair tasks
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic
- Proficiency in diesel engine diagnostics and repair
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and preventative maintenance procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of in-shop mechanic experience
- CDL license (preferred for higher pay consideration)
- Prior experience working with diesel systems
