Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Intern, your daily activities will involve a mix of technical design work, collaboration, and learning opportunities. Typical tasks include:
- Design Support: Use Revit to create and update 3D models of HVAC systems, ensuring accurate layouts and coordination with other building systems.
- Load Calculations: Perform heating and cooling load calculations using Carrier HAP software to support system sizing and energy efficiency analysis.
- Documentation: Assist in preparing technical drawings, schedules, and specifications for project deliverables.
- Team Collaboration: Review design progress, and communicate with engineers and project managers to align on requirements.
- Site Exposure: Participate in occasional site visits to observe installations, verify design implementation, and learn troubleshooting techniques.
- Research & Learning: Explore new HVAC technologies, sustainability practices, and energy-saving strategies to contribute innovative ideas to the team.
