Job DescriptionRole: Temporary Legal Assistant
Start Date:
ASAP
Pay: $25-$38/hr.
Duration: Estimated 5–12 weeks (with 2 weeks’ notice before assignment end)
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hrs./week | Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Location: Onsite – Downtown Portland, OR
Perks: Monthly parking pass or bus pass provided

LHH is seeking an experienced Temporary Legal Assistant to support one shareholder and one of counsel attorney, primarily in insurance defense and administrative law. This position will also provide backup support to other civil litigation attorneys in the Portland office.

This is an onsite-only temporary role due to an unexpected departure on the team. While we cannot commit to a permanent position at this time, there is a potential for the role to become permanent in the future.

Top Requirements:

  • 5+ years of high-level litigation legal assistant experience

  • 5+ years of Oregon litigation experience, including strong ORCP knowledge

  • Docketing experience

  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys

  • Experience with document management systems

  • Trial prep experience preferred (e.g., creating trial binders)

  • Able to manage multiple attorneys with efficiency

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Quick to learn new legal tech/tools

  • Confident navigating the Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure

Key Responsibilities:

  • E-filing (state and federal)

  • Drafting and preparing legal documents and correspondence

  • Shell preparation

  • Docketing deadlines and tasks

  • Providing support for trial prep and case management
