Position: Contracts Manager

MIKEL is seeking an experienced individual to fill the role as our Contracts Manager. The successful candidate will be an integral part of MIKEL’s Contracts, Supply Chain, and Property team.

Nature of Role: Reporting to the CFO, the Contracts Manager will focus on pre-contract activities including proposals and negotiation, administration, and close-out of government and commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively across all functions to advise and support competitive and sole source Request for Proposals (RFPs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and Teaming Agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Provide advice on contractual rights and obligations, to include risk mitigation.
  • Negotiating, including writing clauses for a variety of instruments that create commitments, e.g., Contracts, OTA’s, NDA’s, Teaming Agreements,
  • Managing Contracts from the pre-contract stage all the way through closeout.
  • Active participation in various Gate Reviews.
  • Maintain official program records, including contracts and correspondence.

Qualifications

  • In-depth understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, and commercial terms and conditions, to negotiate all types of Government, commercial, and international contractual instruments and agreements.
  • Candidates should be able to compile and analyze data, maintain historical information and engage in strategic priorities as needed.
  • A bachelor’s degree: an advanced degree coupled with Contracts Management certification (i.e., CPCM) is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in DoD contracts administration/negotiation/management of cost reimbursable and fixed-price contracts.
  • Experience with Cost Point.
  • Expert knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement); as well as experience with different contract types.
  • Strong proposal development skills, solid negotiation skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of contract pricing principles, and the ability to apply sound judgment to proposal strategy, contract formation, contract execution, and customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills in dealing with competing priorities, deadlines, and in handling multiple tasks
  • Working knowledge of international contracting, e.g., DCS, FMF and FMS, including ITAR, EAR, FCPA
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills and be a source that provides solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and make independent decisions, ensuring high levels of collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, etc.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
