Utilize your knowledge and skills to participate in complex tool designs and reviews, and contribute to maintaining medium and long run progressive stamping tooling.
Responsibilities
- Examine standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures, and recommend design modifications for construction and function of parts.
- Build, repair, and maintain medium and long run progressive stamping tooling.
- Utilize technical drawings, blueprints, sketches, or CAD models to build and assemble dies and form tools.
- Use CAD/CAM software to program CNC machining center and wire EDM.
- Set-up and operate CNC machining center and wire EDM, manual mill, lathe, drill, and surface grinders.
- Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications and make necessary adjustments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve tooling related issues.
- Work with Press Operators on setup of tools in press.
Essential Skills
- Experience in tool and die making.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Machining skills, including operation of mills, lathes, drills, and surface grinders.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair tooling issues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with inspection of parts using various measuring tools.
- Understanding of sheet metal processes.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of customer information.
- Adherence to safety policies and professionalism.

Work Environment
Work in a mid-size sheet metal shop with some older but well-maintained equipment. The facility is climate-controlled, offering a comfortable working environment. Efforts are underway to replace some of the machines to enhance operational efficiency.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
