POSITION PURPOSE:

The Lead Housing Specialist provides direct Housing Support (HS) and Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) while also taking on supplemental duties to support the Community Support Service Coordinator. This includes actively searching for housing vacancies, working one to one with clients to search for housing options fitting to their assessed needs, developing partnerships with landlords/property management agencies, oversight of client files, coordination of operational tasks, and leadership in day-to-day housing service delivery. The role blends direct service with leadership, communication, and systems management.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

The Lead Housing Specialist reports to the Community Support Service Coordinator who reports to the Director of Community Services who reports to the Executive Vice President who reports to the President. The Lead Housing Specialist is responsible for a variety of individual tasks, which require knowledge of housing programs, funding sources and regulations, and knowledge of various disabilities, mental health diagnosis and disability services. Excellent leadership and professional interpersonal skills are required. The Lead Housing Specialist may complete various clerical tasks including completion county benefits forms, housing applications, and other documents required for participation in the HS and HSS programs. The job requires frequent contact with property management agencies, clients, and county employees. The work environment requires frequent driving, walking, standing, and sitting. Local travel is required. The Lead Housing Specialist participates in frequent phone, deskwork and computer work. This is a non-exempt position.

Essential Functions of the Job- Lead Housing Specialist

Direct Housing Support:

· Provide one-on-one housing navigation and support for individuals in HS and HSS programs.

· Collaborate with landlords and property managers to maintain housing placements.

· Complete documentation and coordinate with counties to support housing stability.

Leadership & Supplemental Duties:

· Support urgent scheduling gaps when Housing Specialists have to be out of the office.

· Coordinate vehicle maintenance and assist overseeing vehicle scheduling.

· Manage vendor communications related to property owner and manager partnerships, including attending regular team meetings and troubleshooting processes between landlords and Housing Specialists

· Monitor Client Track, maintaining accurate documentation of individuals served and knowledge of contract capacities.

· Track and review referral progress with counties; coordinate denials or follow-ups.

· Support move-in processes and ensure accurate and timely file creation and audit readiness.

· Respond to and route voicemails and incoming PSC communication.

· Attend and represent PSC at applicable county or property meetings.

· Coordinate Bridging appointments for individuals served.

· Manage supply inventory and delegate ordering/restocking.

· Provide support during county audits and assist with financial and operational documentation.


QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

· One (1) year experience working with persons with disabilities

· Housing experience preferred

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Excellent problem solving and organizational skills

· Telephone, computer, and communication skills

· Ability to read, write and speak English

· Ability to see and hear adequately to respond to emergency situations.

· Ability to travel to meet with clients and attend meetings, and if driving, holds a valid drivers license and maintains a safe driving record.

· Ability to sit, stand, reach, and bend
