We're seeking an experienced Part-Time Surveillance Private Investigator to join our team in the Albany, NY area and surrounding counties (within ~100 miles). You'll conduct discreet mobile and stationary surveillance for workers' compensation cases, capturing claimant activity with professional video equipment.
This is a field-based, flexible opportunity with potential to grow into 40+ hours per week, depending on performance and case volume.
What We Offer:
- Investigative work is paid at $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience.
- Travel time to and from assignments is paid at a reduced hourly rate.
- Mileage reimbursement is provided for all case-related travel once surveillance begins.

What You'll Do:
- Conduct covert video surveillance of claimants in workers' compensation cases
- Operate both mobile and stationary surveillance in a lawful and professional manner
- Capture high-quality, time-stamped video evidence
- Write clear, detailed reports documenting all activity
- Safeguard case materials and evidence
- Provide timely updates to case managers
- Work varied hours-including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays-based on client needs
- Travel throughout Albany and surrounding counties (see list above) for assignments
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: At least 2 years of surveillance experience with a licensed private investigation firm. Candidates with prior law enforcement or military experience may be considered in lieu of formal private investigation experience for roles involving surveillance, video recording, and tracking individuals.
- Equipment: Must own and operate:
- A surveillance-ready vehicle
- Laptop
- Professional video camera
- Covert (concealed) camera
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of New York State surveillance laws.
- Skills: Excellent observational, reporting, and time management skills.
- Attributes: Highly motivated, discreet, and able to work independently in the field.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in insurance, workers' compensation, or disability investigation
