POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing, implementing, and supervising the daily programs for school age children.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
- Prepares comprehensive annual program budget for the approval of the Branch Director, Area Director and the Regional Vice President
- Develops appropriate daycare related policies and procedures
- Manages, supervises, trains and evaluates Day Care staff and volunteers
- Develops comprehensive strategy for growth development, and evaluation of the Day Care program in line with Club strategy, including budgets
- Prepares and oversees the Day care transportation schedule and logistics
- Recommends and enforces policies set by state licensing agency.
- Responsible for tracking employee time sheets, scheduling, providing staff supervision and direction, support and in-house training
- Implements and evaluates on-going program of public relations and program promotions in the form of flyers, posters, brochures, and Club brochures
Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club professional staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct and advise/counsel.
External: Maintains contact as needed with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: (Education, experience, skills required)
- Bachelor’s degree or education/experience equivalency.
- Minimum of five years’ work experience in a Boys and Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
- Two years of experience caring for preschoolers or school age children as a registered family day care provider desired.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
- Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities.
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
- Ability to deal effectively with diverse group of parents and children.
- Cognitive ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple job requests.
- Ability to clearly and concisely exchange ideas, facts, and/or technical information with others.
- Ability to positively interact with management, co-workers, public officials and others.
- Valid Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Requires the ability to speak, hear, use a personal computer for standard business communications, and the ability lift up to 15 lbs.
