As a Service Technician, you will perform routine maintenance and repairs on luxury motor coaches, diagnose electrical issues, and troubleshoot high voltage systems. Your role will involve conducting field service operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing estimates for repair needs in collaboration with the service writer. You will also repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, cabinetry, flooring, and AV areas of motorcoaches, track all repairs and parts, and provide detailed information to the service advisor. Additionally, you will engage with customers regarding repair and service needs and assist in the delivery process for motorcoach sales.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on luxury motor coaches.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and high voltage systems.
  • Conduct field service operations to effectively address customer needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards while working on electrical systems.
  • Diagnose motorcoach repair needs and provide time and part estimates.
  • Repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, cabinetry, flooring, and AV areas.
  • Track all repairs and parts and provide detailed information to the service advisor.
  • Engage with customers regarding repair and service needs.
  • Assist in the delivery process for motorcoach sales.
  • Ensure completed work adheres to quality standards through quality control reviews.


Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including high voltage applications.
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical practices and logic controllers.
  • Ability to analyze problems and implement effective solutions promptly.
  • Experience with HVAC/R systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and air-powered hand tools.
  • Knowledge of RTI and AMX is advantageous.
  • Technical certification in RVIA or ABYC is desired but not required.


Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with power tools such as rotors, drills, compact band saws, and table saws.
  • Tape measure proficiency and finish carpentry skills.
  • Familiarity with woodworking and HVAC.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean, indoor shop setting that is not climate-controlled. You will work a 4-day schedule from Monday to Thursday, 7 am to 5:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime on Fridays from 7 am to 12 noon. The facility is equipped for woodworking and other tasks essential for luxury motorcoach production.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Suffolk, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
