The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) is seeking enthusiastic, attentive and outgoing Swim Instructors for our Whitefish Bay indoor pool. These are part-time positions that include the following weekday & weekend hours:
- Saturday: 9am-12pm
- Sunday: 9am-12:30pm
- Monday-Thursday: 4pm-6pm
- Friday: 8:30-11:00am
The JCC is a non-profit social services agency founded upon Jewish ethics and values. Committed to meeting the ever-changing needs of the entire community, the JCC strengthens Jewish identity and enriches quality of life through diversified social, educational, recreational, and cultural programs. Operating out of five facilities throughout Wisconsin, the JCC provides the total community with a forum for open dialogue and offers inclusive wellness, education, and community services for members and guests of all backgrounds.
Position Summary
- Teach age and level appropriate skills to people of all ages and abilities.
- Communicate openly and regularly with supervisor and team members.
- Attend and participate in all mandatory JCC staff meetings and departmental trainings.
- Promote aquatic programming.
- Track attendance and progress of students in their assigned lessons and complete necessary paperwork during the middle and end of the swim lesson session.
- Uniform requirements –family-friendly-swimsuit.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements (KSAs)
- Ability to maintain good relationships with other staff, volunteers, members, and the general public.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
- Swim instructors must show an interest in working with children, adults, and teens and show significant evidence of emotional maturity, good character, excellent judgment, professionalism, integrity and leadership abilities
- Ability to maintain harmonious relationships with other staff, volunteers, members, and the general public.

Education and/or Experience
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Minimum of one year of instruction experience is preferred.
- Previous swimming background preferred.
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR Pro/First Aid, or Swim Instruction from nationally recognized organizations preferred.
