The Supervisor – Cash Operations is responsible for overseeing shift activities related to player services transactions, casino credit processing, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and Title 31 requirements. This position also supports the planning, coordination, and execution of Morongo Rewards promotions and guest engagement strategies designed to drive player loyalty and revenue growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assumes responsibility for departmental operations in the absence of the Cash Operations Manager.
- Trains cash operations team members in areas such as balancing, player services procedures, and policy compliance.
- Ensures strict adherence to the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program, including Title 31 reporting, Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and Customer Identification requirements.
- Identifies and addresses compliance deficiencies through immediate corrective action and team training.
- Maintains full accountability of Player Services cash cage operations in accordance with internal controls and Morongo Gaming Agency requirements.
- Processes and verifies transactions including cash, checks, credit card advances, large jackpots, and counter checks.
- Maintains and troubleshoots operational functionality of all Cash Operations equipment including ATMs, kiosks, currency recyclers, and more.
- Manages guest disputes related to cashiering or equipment errors and ensures timely resolution.
- Processes and reviews casino credit applications and ensures proper documentation and approvals.
- Builds and maintains 4-Diamond guest relationships through exceptional service and personalized interactions.
- Coordinates with the Promotions Manager on the design and execution of Morongo Rewards promotions and guest engagement initiatives.
- Supports recruitment, retention, and re-engagement of players through promotional events and data tracking.
- Assists with maintaining the player tracking database and providing marketing insights for direct mail and player analytics.
- Tracks performance of promotions and events on the gaming floor using the online player tracking system.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership and guidance to the Cash Operations team during assigned shifts.
- Recruits, trains, and develops staff to ensure operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
- Communicates performance expectations and standards; monitors and appraises job results.
- Coaches, counsels, and disciplines team members as needed to promote growth and accountability.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and compliant work environment while encouraging personal and professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong working knowledge of casino cashiering, including policies, internal controls, and system procedures.
- In-depth understanding of promotions, direct marketing, player tracking systems, and guest loyalty programs.
- Excellent cash handling, math, and reconciliation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and player tracking software.
- Ability to manage high-volume transactions and deliver outstanding guest service.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Relevant certification (e.g., CFE, CMA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in cash operations, banking, or financial services.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity in a high-volume cash handling environment.
- Strong understanding of cash control procedures, reconciliation, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience training, coaching, and monitoring performance of front-line cash handling staff.
- Familiarity with financial systems, cash management software, and audit protocols.
- Previous experience in a regulated setting such as gaming, banking, or secure cash operations preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

- Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with team members, management, auditors, and regulatory representatives in person, over the phone, and through written documentation.
- Lifting and Carrying: Frequently lift and carry coin bags, cash drawers, and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds; may assist with heavier loads using carts or team lifting methods.
- Manual Dexterity: Regularly uses hands and fingers to count cash and coin, input data, operate money handling equipment, and manage documentation with accuracy and efficiency.
- Mobility: Frequently moves throughout the cash operations department including the cage, vault, count room, and occasionally the casino floor to provide support, oversight, or investigation.
- Stationary Work: Frequently remains standing for long periods while supervising operations; occasional seated work for preparing reports, completing reconciliations, and reviewing surveillance footage or transactions.
- Tool Operation: Regular use of currency counters, coin sorters, cash dispensers, computers, surveillance equipment, and other standard office and cash operations systems.
- Visual Acuity: Requires sharp near vision and depth perception to accurately count, verify, and reconcile currency; must be able to detect irregularities or counterfeit items and monitor security activity.
- Working Conditions: Routinely works in secure, high-surveillance areas with exposure to continuous camera monitoring, moderate to high noise levels, and a smoking environment within or adjacent to the casino floor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.
WORKING HOURS:
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
