Operates credit card register to accept payment for merchandise or services.
General Accountabilities
- Greets customers.
- Receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
- Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers.
- Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
- Calculates total payments received during a time period and reconciles this with total sales.
- Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.
- Maintains clean and orderly checkout area.
