The role:
This role requires a dynamic, fluid thinker with a strong understanding of the litigation landscape. Associates are visible leaders within our firm. Your skillset should contain at least 2-3 years' litigation & drafting experience, must be barred and in good standing in NY/NJ.This role has a managerial component, as you will be responsible for a team of (3+) paralegals.

What you will be doing:
- Represent and manage your own caseload (particularly complex cases) including research, drafting, preparing for trials, drafting and/or reviewing documents, representing clients in negotiations or court
- Responsible for supervising a team of paralegals
- Delegating daily tasks, monitoring overall performance including addressing complaints, resolving problems, organizing caseload, meetings, coaching, advising, & resource allocation
- Provide feedback and support to team to ensure accuracy and quality
- Oversee team attendance, approving timecards, addressing tardiness
- Collaborate and strategize with the managing partner and other business areas within the organization to better support our clients and contribute to the overall success of the company
- Develop and implement strategies to improve team efficiency, statistics and overall departmental performance
- Regularly provide updates and/or reports on key metrics and other relevant to Managing Partner (on occasion to COO)
- Monitor and stay up-to-date with relevant regulatory agencies to ensure our adherence to all applicable regulations and guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental needs and objectives
What you bring:
- Juris Doctorate required
- Barred & in good standing in NY required
- Other state licensures a plus
- 2-3 years of Litigation experience required
- 2-3 years of Drafting experience required
- Managerial experience strongly preferred
- Experience working in a start-up or small business a plus
- Demonstrate strong leadership, management, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities, often within tight deadlines
- Organized, strategic, decisive and detail/results-oriented
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adaptable and able to manage change
