Entry-Level AutoCAD Civil3D Drafter/Designer

Qualifications and Skills
- Candidate should have completed a 2-year associates degree or 1-year certificate program in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), or received a BSCE degree from an ABET-accredited program, or a minimum of 2 years of experience working with AutoCAD Civil3D in the land development or site development industry.
- Candidate for this position must demonstrate strong independent thought and decision-making abilities; extensive working knowledge of Civil3D CAD software and its relation to the site development engineering industry, to be able to prepare technical drawings efficiently; ability to analyze design sketches and specifications to create technical drawings; strong attention to detail to ensure drawings are accurate according to specifications; communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and establish/maintain positive working relationships with architects, engineers and other professionals (public agency personnel and in-house staff); time management skills to work with multiple projects and competing deadlines; basic knowledge of engineering practices and industry standards; ability to request/submit documents from/to public agencies and subcontractors.
- Candidate must possess (or have the ability to quickly learn and apply) AutoCAD Civil 3D experience/knowledge related to site development design and plan preparation, including but not limited to: use of feature lines for creating and editing surfaces; creating profiles for offsite roadways and utilities using alignments; use of pipe networks for designing underground utility systems; use of dynamic labels and notes generated by surfaces and underground utility systems; use of sheet set manager to efficiently set up sheets for plan preparation; skills regarding layer management in model space, paper space and viewports; labeling and annotating plan sheets with construction notes using HAWSNOTES.
