PRC Baker Places is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the San Francisco community through legal advocacy, workforce development, financial services, and residential treatment programs. We support formerly homeless adults living with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders by providing a continuum of integrated direct care services. Compensation DOE:
Facilities Technician I | $23.31-$27.62 Hourly
Facilities Technician II | $27.23-$31.93 Hourly
Position Overview
The Facilities Technician I & II support the Facilities Manager, Program Directors, and Project Director in maintaining agency sites and ensuring safe, functional, and well-operated facilities. Both roles perform general maintenance and repair duties across assigned locations. The Facilities Technician II additionally assists in coordinating and maintaining the efficient and smooth operation of the physical jobsite, providing advanced support in troubleshooting, project coordination, and technical tasks as needed.
Facilities Technician I
The Facilities Technician I works with the Facilities Manager, Program Directors and Project Director to maintain assigned agency sites.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Areas of up-keep include electrical, plumbing, carpentry, cabinetry, HVAC and minor locksmithing, hanging doors, and removing and replacing windows.
- Keeps records of all jobs requested and completed.
- Submits all receipts from purchases and charges.
- Performs in-house carpentry, plumbing, electrical and painting sites.
- Other duties as assigned.
Facilities Technician II
Facilities Technician II works with the Facilities Manager, Program Directors, and Project Director to maintain assigned agency sites and assist with maintaining efficient and smooth operation of the physical jobsite.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use.
- Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.
- Receives, manages, and processes work order requests; ensures problems are resolved quickly.
- Acts as liaison between employees and any outside contractors needed to resolve specialized problems.
- Drafts and implements preventive maintenance schedules for buildings and equipment.
- Ensures safety standards are followed throughout the facility.
- Participates in the emergency preparedness planning team.
- Applies, or assists with the application, for required environmental permits.
- Maintains the inventory of supplies; reorders as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and repairs.

- Verifies and submits all receipts from purchases and charges.
- Performs in-house carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and painting sites.
- Maintains follow-up on outstanding work that needs to be completed by the manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Facilities Technician I – Minimum Qualifications
Technical / Skills

Valid California Driver’s License; must maintain a valid license and driving record according to the agency’s auto insurability guidelines throughout employment.

Solid working knowledge of general carpentry and cabinetry, including flooring, walls, shelving, doors, windows, and finish work.

Experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and minor locksmithing.

Well organized and able to maintain accurate records, receipts, and mileage logs.

Good interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to write legibly and clearly.
Physical Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively verbally, orally, and in writing.

Able to navigate several flights of stairs multiple times per day.

Capable of operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
-
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for short distances in all directions.

Able to use tools requiring wrist and hand movements.
-
Ability to maintain crouching and bending positions for extended periods.

Able to work on facility roofs for extended periods.
-
Able to safely use power tools and work on ladders, sometimes above 12 feet in height.
