MAIN FUNCTION: To lead the used-vehicle sales department. The used-vehicle sales manager is responsible for operations, sales performance results, employee supervision, customer satisfaction in the used-vehicle sales department and train consultants in the SUBARU difference.
SAMPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with upper management to improve sales and operations
- Works with upper management to make used-vehicle sales department hiring and discipline decisions
- Maintains CSI at or above company standards
- Assists sales team members with processing or completing sales
- Trains and supervises sales team members
- Develops product promotions to motivate sales team members
- Sets schedules for sales team members
- Oversees department inventory
- Interacts with customers to ensure customer satisfaction
- Responsible for final decisions on sale price and trade-in vehicle appraisals
- Reinforces company policies and adheres to company standards
- Encourages compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Ensures proper reporting of new vehicle sales to manufacturer(s)
- Has working knowledge of factory(s) incentive programs
- Attends weekly manager meetings
- Maintains effective employee relations
- Promotes and maintains good ESI
- Oversees prospecting, follow-up, and prior owner calls on a daily basis
- Conducts individual one-on-one daily
- Introduces self to all SUBARU customers
- Makes sure all deals are signed and inspected before going to F&I
- Trains consultants in the SUBARU difference
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent sales skills
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Working knowledge of the automotive sales industry
- Excellent interpersonal and persuasive skills
- Valid driver's license and acceptable with the company insurance carrier
- Ability to deal effectively with customers and dealership personnel
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Duties are performed throughout the dealership, both indoors and outdoors. Due to the nature of the position, the Used-Vehicle Sales Manager may be exposed to various work environments and required to perform a range of tasks. Work includes frequent movement around the dealership facilities and the outdoor car lot to interact with customers, new sales team members, the used-vehicle sales department, and the finance and insurance department.
