Counter-Form LLC is seeking a 1st shift Maintenance Lead Technician!
Work Schedule: Schedule will vary based on workload; Full-time with overtime.
First Shift: Monday thru Friday starting at 6:15am

What you will do:
The Maintenance Lead Technician role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations in our production facility, with a strong emphasis on safety, equipment reliability, and team leadership. The Maintenance Lead Technician will take ownership of both hands-on technical work and the coordination of activities within the maintenance team, acting as the primary liaison between maintenance, production, and external vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight
- Serve as the lead point of contact for all maintenance-related issues on shift.
- Schedule, delegate, and oversee maintenance work orders and assignments.
- Lead and mentor maintenance technicians and support training of machine operators in basic troubleshooting.
- Represent the Maintenance Department in cross-functional meetings and planning sessions.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Maintenance & Technical Execution
- Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of machinery, systems, and infrastructure.
- Maintain and repair facility buildings, grounds, lighting, HVAC units, and plumbing as needed.
- Perform basic maintenance and inspections on company vehicles and equipment trailers (fleet), coordinating service or repairs as necessary.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues promptly.
- Assist with equipment installations, setups, and calibrations.
- Coordinate outside contractors and vendors for specialized repair or maintenance services.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic diagnostics and modifications on PLC – controlled equipment to support production and reduce downtime.
- Oversee and maintain tooling inventory, such as blades, bits, and inserts.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks to repair or modify equipment, supports, and facility structures as needed.
- Design, fabricate, and install custom fixtures, brackets, guards, or components to support operational and safety improvements.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA regulations and internal safety policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory using the CMMS.
- Conduct regular safety checks and equipment inspections.
- Order and manage maintenance parts, tools, and supplies; coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost control.
Process Improvement
- Proactively identify recurring issues or inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
- Participate in root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to strategic maintenance planning, including capital improvements and asset upgrades.
What you need:
- Strong mechanical aptitude; experience with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and repair of production equipment and facility systems.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and CMMS systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Working knowledge of safety practices and OSHA regulations.
- Working knowledge of PLC systems; ability to troubleshoot and modify basic logic diagnostics preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; welding or fabrication certification strongly preferred.
- Associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, welding, or a related field is preferred.
- 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience performing welding and fabrication in an industrial or production setting required.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role strongly preferred.
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Electrical certification is preferred but not required.
