THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Identify actions necessary to achieve task completion and to obtain results, meet schedules, deadlines, and performance goals.
  • Prioritize and complete tasks in order to deliver desired outcomes within allotted time frames.
  • Initiate and sustain momentum without external stimulation
  • Establish a process for activities that lead to the implementation of systems, procedures or outcomes.
  • Identify long range goals and design plans to attain them while evaluating future implications of current decisions and actions.

THE CONTROLS ENGINEER WILL:

  • Design, develop, test, and debug control system architecture, including PLC logic, HMI interfaces, servo drives, VFDs, and safety systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate controls into new equipment and upgrades.
  • Create Sequence of Operations, Timing Charts, Programs, Parameter Lists, Instructions
  • Develop defect free designs according to Safety and Environmental Regulations within time and budgetary guidelines.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment and software issues in production and field environments.
  • Ensure control systems meet industry standards (UL, NFPA, OSHA, IEC, etc.) and company requirements.
  • Implement system improvements for performance, reliability, and safety.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Controls or Automation Engineer, all other qualifications may be gained concurrently with this requirement.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in on-site troubleshooting of PLC devices
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Automation programming / coordination between PLC devices
  • Minimum 2 years experience with a combination of the following PLC Brands: Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron
  • Minimum 2 years experience with Servo Motors (Yaskawa) or Industrial Servo Robots (Motoman, Sepro or Fanuc)
  • Experience working independently, as well as working in a team-orientated and fast-paced startup-like environment.
  • Obtain and Maintain a Valid Driver License
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
