Job description:
Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at our clients Overland Park, KS office.
Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have at least 2+ years of civil litigation defense experience (medical malpractice, personal injury, product liability, or wrongful death preferred).
Note: Our client is open to both full-time and contract paralegals, with strong potential for a contract role to convert to a permanent position. Hours are 8-5 or 9-6 with an hour lunch.

Job Description
- Provide comprehensive paralegal support to attorneys handling litigation defense matters
- Manage case files from start to finish, including organization, deadlines, and billing
- Review and analyze medical records and other evidence
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries of regulations, case law, and depositions
- Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
- Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and witness coordination
- Maintain direct communication with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel
- Support attorneys with administrative tasks such as calendaring and document filing
Qualifications
- At least 2+ years of civil litigation defense experience required (medical malpractice, personal injury, product liability, wrongful death)
- Bachelors degree required; paralegal certificate a plus
- Strong knowledge of court rules, filing procedures, and case management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
