Position Summary
The Paralegal will support Superior Underwriter's Legal Department by assisting with legal research, document drafting, regulatory filings, litigation support, and contract management. This role requires high attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and organize legal documents, including contracts, regulatory filings, discovery responses, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for in-house counsel.
- Maintain and update corporate records and legal databases.
- Support the legal team in responding to subpoenas, litigation, and regulatory inquiries.
- Track and manage deadlines for legal filings and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate and communicate with outside counsel, vendors, and internal departments as needed.
- Assist in preparing materials for regulatory audits and examinations.
- Monitor changes in state and federal insurance laws and provide summaries to the legal team.
- Organize and maintain a legal document management system.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- 3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in insurance, litigation, or corporate law.
- Working knowledge of insurance industry regulations and terminology is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
- Highly organized with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
