MOLDING MACHINE OPERATOR
Location: Norco, CA
Material: Plastics
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of molding machine experience
- Has experience in the plastics industry or equivalent
- Willing to work overtime
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the shift supervisor and molding process technician in helping the company meet customer expectations. Help the shift lead too if required.
- Perform set-ups in a timely manner and in accordance with approved company policies and procedures.
- Work with the molding process technician to recognize good products and the process to run it.
- Able to answer and address machine alarms.
- Notify a supervisor or molding technician if product, process, material, or mold problems are identified.
- Answer machine alarms and requests for assistance from operators and leads.
- Keep molds cleaned and lubed, fill out cleaning log.
- Inspect and assist the activities of the material handlers. This includes helping with training.
- Participate in shift-to-shift communication: walk-through with the other shift, reading and filling out the shift log.
- Oversee, assist, and train the material handlers.
- Check that the material identification labels on the material barrels, hoppers, dryers match and are correct.
- Assist in mold set-ups configuration insert changes.
- Follow the set-up priority sheet.
- Recognize and act on pre-drying opportunities for job changes.
- Demonstrate a high proficiency in daily tasks.
- Notify the shift supervisor or the process technician before leaving for breaks and lunch.
- Ensure that the safety policies and procedures are being observed and practice.
- Ensure that the quality policies and procedures are being observed and practiced.

- Frequently employee will need to bend, stoop, and squad,
- Frequent lifting and or moving up to 30 pounds and occasional lifting and or move up to 50 pounds,
- Required to reach with hands and arms to handle documents and product,
- Must be able to enter data into a computer by use of a keyboard and mouse and be able to sit as well as occasionally visit employees throughout the building to gather data to clarify information,
- Specific vision abilities required by this job are those necessary for clearly reading printed material and information printed on a computer screen, this includes close vision, depth, and ability to adjust focus,
- Position requires the ability to think and respond at the level necessary to execute the position essential functions.
Work Environment
The work environment conditions are typical of both an office and a manufacturing shop environment. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable the individuals with disabilities to perform the basic functions. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud, however hearing protection may be required if an employee enters a high noise area as part of their normal job duties. The workshop environment temperatures range from moderate to hot temperatures, taking more frequent breaks are permissible for employees to cool off during hot temperature weather.
