Paint Protection Film (PPF) Installer

A PPF installer is responsible for applying paint protection film (PPF) to vehicles to protect their paint from damage. This involves prepping the vehicle, cutting and applying the film, and ensuring a seamless, bubble-free finish. PPF installers work with various vehicle types and need to maintain a clean and organized work area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Preparation: Cleaning, decontaminating, and ensuring vehicle surfaces are ready for PPF installation.
  • PPF Application: Cutting, fitting, and applying PPF to various vehicle parts, including hoods, bumpers, fenders, and full-body wraps.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting PPF installations for imperfections, bubbles, and stretch marks, and making necessary corrections.
  • Customer Communication: Providing customers with information about PPF and care instructions.
  • Tool Maintenance: Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained properly.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Keeping the work area clean and organized.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is crucial for precise PPF installation.
  • Five or more years experience
  • Manual Dexterity: The ability to work with tools and materials, including squeegees, heat guns, and knives.
  • Physical Stamina: Standing, walking, and potentially lifting and carrying materials.
  • Adaptability: The ability to learn new procedures and processes, and work on various vehicle types.
  • Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving issues during installation.
  • Customer Service Skills: Providing excellent customer service and addressing concerns.
  • Teamwork: Collaborating effectively with team members.

Additional Notes:

  • Experience with computerized cutting systems (plotters) or hand-templating for custom coverage.
  • A valid driver's license is often preferred.
  • PPF installers may also be responsible for other tasks, such as assisting with vehicle maintenance or detailing.
