Position Overview

A leading industrial project organization is seeking an experienced Contracts Analyst to support a large-scale, multi-billion-dollar capital project consisting of multiple high-value service and construction contracts. Several of these agreements exceed $1B in value.

This role will support senior contract and project leadership in the drafting, review, administration, and lifecycle management of general and specialty service contracts. The Contracts Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring contractual compliance, risk mitigation, cost control, and schedule adherence across all phases of the project.

The ideal candidate brings strong contract law knowledge, construction industry experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.


Key Responsibilities

Contract Documentation & Administration

  • Draft, review, and edit contractual documents including:
    • Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
    • Statements of Work (SOWs)
    • Change Orders
    • Work Directives
    • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
  • Prepare and manage contract-related correspondence, negotiation memoranda, and formal documentation.
  • Track compliance with contract terms for all parties; maintain logs, issue reports, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of contractual obligations.
  • Maintain complete and accurate contract files including:
    • Deliverables
    • Invoices
    • Purchase Orders
    • Change Orders
    • Work Directives

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Analyze contract terms, conditions, and special provisions to ensure compliance with:
    • Applicable laws and regulations
    • Internal corporate policies
  • Partner with Legal and Procurement teams during contract review and negotiations.
  • Identify contractual risks, conflicting provisions, and gaps; provide risk-based recommendations to senior contracts leadership.
  • Monitor contractor and vendor compliance, including review of insurance and bonding where required.

Financial & Commercial Support

  • Review and analyze:
    • Payment applications
    • Change events
    • Cost impacts
  • Support Project Controls and Finance teams with:
    • Forecasting
    • Invoice reconciliation
    • Cost variance analysis
  • Analyze pricing structures and provide data for comparative cost reports.

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as a primary contract point of contact for:
    • Legal
    • Finance
    • Procurement
    • Project Management
    • External contractors and vendors
  • Resolve contract discrepancies and inquiries efficiently.
  • Prepare executive-level reports and presentations on:
    • Contract status
    • Compliance metrics
    • Risk exposure
    • Performance indicators
  • Provide contract guidance to project staff regarding obligations and requirements.


Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following (or related discipline):
    • Business Administration
    • Accounting
    • Finance
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Construction Management
  • OR a minimum of 5 years of directly relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Experience & Technical Knowledge

  • 3+ years of experience in contract administration, preferably supporting:
    • Construction
    • Engineering
    • Infrastructure
    • Large capital projects
  • Proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Adobe applications
  • Experience with:
    • Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems
    • ERP platforms (Oracle experience highly desirable)
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Materials and services contract law
    • Commercial terms & conditions
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing contract negotiations using redlines in coordination with legal teams.

Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (travel required).

    • Heavy equipment
    • Outdoor weather exposure


Working Conditions

  • 10–20% travel, including occasional overnight stays
  • Availability across multiple time zones as required
  • On-call availability via mobile device outside standard working hours
  • Successful completion of:
    • Drug screen
    • Background check
    • Credit check (for applicable roles)
