Summary: Counsel (Contracts) will be responsible for assisting with the management of contracts associated with oncology clinical trials managed by the Coalition of Cancer Cooperative Groups (Coalition) and its affiliated entities as well as other contracts required by the Coalition to meet its mission. Counsel (Contracts) ensures that terms and conditions are negotiated in a timely manner with third parties while ensuring that agreements are legally sufficient and reflect the Coalition’s goals and objectives. This is an exempt, non-supervisory position.
Currently a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 1-2 days/week in our Center City office.
Job Responsibilities
- Reviews contract and budgetary requirements to assist in the development of contractual agreements for Coalition projects.
- Performs as part of a Contract Team that includes the General Counsel, Senior Counsel, program managers, and other professional and administrative staff.
- Conducts legal review of agreements to ensure legal sufficiency and adherence to the Coalition’s goals and objectives in performing the investigations.
- Maintains contract files that provide the history of the agreements for each project and any necessary administrative revisions.
- Assists with communications regarding contracts for the Coalition.
- Maintains positive interaction with sponsor/funder representatives and site personnel.
- Provides reports as requested, including status reports and information to the General Counsel, Senior Counsel, and Vice President, as appropriate, which support the operation requirements of the Coalition.
Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with clinical trials or comparable pharmaceutical or legal experience.
- Knowledge of grants and contracts is required.
- Knowledge of clinical trials is helpful.
- The ability to assimilate protocol-related information within contractual documentation required.
Education
- J.D. degree from an accredited college or university is required
