The Blake School seeks to hire energetic and enthusiastic program instructors, specialists, counselors and camp assistants for its Spring and Summer at Blake programs. Summer at Blake offers a wide range of day camps and enrichment programs for students from pre-kindergarten to grade 12, designed to nurture growth as scholars, athletes and artists. Open to students across the Twin Cities, these programs foster community connections and provide an engaging, challenging and supportive environment for summer learning and development. Held on Blake’s Hopkins campus, these programs utilize the school’s outstanding facilities and are led by talented teachers, coaches and community partners. Candidates with experience working with youth in aquatics, physical education, team building, the outdoors, visual and performing arts or technology instruction are desired.
Spring and Summer at Blake will take place on Blake’s Hopkins campus. Spring Break programs are scheduled from March 16 to March 27, 2026. Summer at Blake will run from June 22 to Aug. 7, 2026. Candidates must be available for one week of training prior to the start of the seven-week day camp program. Transportation will be provided for all off-site excursions. Program staff report to the director of enrichment programs to ensure a safe, fun and nurturing environment for all participants.
Requirements:
Camp counselors are responsible for designing and implementing age-appropriate camp activities in the Cubs, Bears, Adventurers and Leaders in Training Day Camps at Blake, including arts, technology, athletics, recreation and field trips. Experience in teaching children ages 4-14 or prior day/recreational camp experience is required. The adult-to-youth ratio is 1:10 or fewer in all programs. Counselors are scheduled Monday through Friday, 8am to 3:45pm with morning and afternoon extended day opportunities available.
Camp assistants have the opportunity to gain experience working with children ages 4-14 in fun, flexible roles that support our programs and team. Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required. Training and mentorship will be provided. Schedules are flexible with part-time and full-time opportunities available Monday through Friday between 7:15am and 5:45pm.
Camp Counselors - $18-23 per hour
Camp Assistants - $17-18 per hour
This salary range includes the expected annual salary for this position. In making a salary determination, we consider professional experience, applicable qualifications and other job-related factors. Based on these factors, a candidate's salary offer could exceed this range.
