Position Overview
This role is for an AM200 law firm seeking a skilled Construction Litigation Associate to join our legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling complex construction litigation cases, providing legal support and advice to clients, and representing them in court and alternative dispute resolution forums. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, contract law, and dispute resolution, along with excellent legal research and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee construction litigation cases from inception to resolution
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis related to construction law and litigation
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and mediations
- Communicate effectively with clients to provide legal advice and consultation
- Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies
- Review and analyze contracts and other legal documents related to construction projects
- Assist in trial preparation, including witness preparation and evidence organization
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and legal standards in construction litigation
- Maintain detailed case management and documentation throughout the litigation process
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in WA State
- 2+ years of experience in construction litigation or related areas
- Strong knowledge of construction law, contract law, and dispute resolution processes
- Excellent litigation, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Proficiency in legal research tools and techniques
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
- Experience with arbitration and mediation processes is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional client service
