We are looking for an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join a dynamic defense firm in Los Angeles, California. This contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to trial preparation and litigation support in a fast-paced environment. The role requires proficiency in managing court filings, calendaring, and e-filing tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit electronic filings in state court, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Manage and maintain the firm's litigation calendar using Clio, coordinating deadlines and schedules.
• Provide comprehensive support for trial preparation, including document organization and case management.
• Collaborate with attorneys to draft, proofread, and finalize legal documents.
• Handle dictation tasks and transcribe legal correspondence with precision.
• Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
• Communicate professionally with court officials, clients, and external parties as needed.
• Coordinate transportation allowances or parking arrangements for staff.
• Assist in other administrative duties to support the legal team efficiently.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably in a litigation or defense firm.
• Proficiency in e-filing and managing court submissions.
• Strong skills in calendar management and familiarity with Clio software.
• Experience in trial preparation and supporting legal proceedings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
