Title: CNC Machinist Lead - Precision CNC Machining
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL 60089
Hourly: $30 - $36 + Overtime + 6% 401k Match + 100% Tuition Reimbursement
Working Hours: Mon-Fri 1st shift OR 2nd shift (your choice)
Founded in 1946 we are a 70 employee machine shop operating on an air conditioned 110,000 sqft plant in Buffalo Grove. Most of our team has extremely long job tenure, we treat everyone with respect and we are always busy so there's no worry about filling hours. We do alot of internal customer work for our 3 sister companies in Milwaukee, Sarasota and Mishawaka so there is very good job stability here. Our machines operate on MasterCam, CAD and Solidworks and we offer all CNC Machinists the flexiblity to work 1st or 2nd shift and choose their own hours. We cater to a few major industries including aerospace, medical, hydraulics, food services & communications so our customer base has alot of room to grow.
What You Will Be Doing
- Interpret engineering drawings & specs to determine machining requirements
- Set up CNC mills, install tools and fixtures & load materials securely
- Edit programs using G-code or conversational language to optimize performance
- Monitor operations, inspect finished parts & ensure quality standards are met
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues & follow safety protocols
What You Need for this Position
- 4+ years of CNC mill or lathe experience, incl: making offsets & adjustments
- Proficient in reading blueprints & using precision measuring tools i.e. calipers & micrometers
- Strong math skills & familiarity with CAD/CAM software
- Experience w/ G&M Code (Mazatrol knowledge is a plus)
- Detail-oriented, mechanically inclined & able to work independently or in a team
