Job DescriptionDescription:

The Paralegal Supervisor supports the Paralegal Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the firm’s paralegal team. This role helps coordinate workflow, supports staff development, ensures quality and compliance, and assists with implementing firm policies and procedures. The Paralegal Supervisor acts as a liaison between paralegals and attorneys, and steps in to provide supervision and guidance as needed.


Duties and Responsibilities

Team Support and Oversight

  • Assist and coordinate with Practice Group Management department in assigning and tracking paralegal workloads across all practice areas.
  • Act as a point of contact for paralegal questions and operational issues.
  • Provide input on performance and contribute to evaluations.
  • Monitor attendance and approve timesheets and time entry, ensuring consistency and alignment with both billable and non-billable hours.

Training and Development

  • Assist with onboarding, orientation, and training of new paralegals; conduct training through multiple avenues such as in-person training, digital assignments, assessments, and more.
  • Working with the Firm Wide Trainer, help create continuing education initiatives for paralegals in legal skills training and track their training progress.

Workflow and Case Support

  • Monitor deadlines and assist in ensuring timely completion of tasks and filings.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and paralegals to facilitate case progress.
  • Step in to assist with high-volume periods or complex cases as needed.

Quality Assurance

  • Perform spot checks or reviews of paralegal work for accuracy and compliance.
  • Asist in maintaining best practices and standard procedures documentation.

Project & Process Support

  • Help coordinate with other areas/departments of the firm to develop efficient procedures/communications to streamline processes and satisfy department needs, projects or initiatives.
  • Gather data and assist in generating reports on paralegal productivity.
  • Assist in monitoring updates related to current paralegal regulations, including court and administrative rules, and if requested by the Paralegal Manager, communicate updates to members of the department.

Administrative Support

  • Assist in maintaining schedules, calendars, and records for the paralegal department.
  • Support timekeeping and billing compliance for the paralegal team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience, with some leadership, mentoring, or coordination responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state court rules and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Word, Adobe, Excel, Outlook, and various legal software and document management systems.
  • (California only) Paralegal certificate from an ABA certified program or attestation from a previous employer attorney.

Work Location

In-Office. Hybrid after 90-days of employment


Salary

$85,000 to $105,000


Work Schedule

8:30-5:30pm Monday-Friday. Occasional weekends and holidays.


Physical Requirements

Primarily sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. Work can be performed with or without accommodation.


Travel

5 – 20% domestic travel by ground and or air, dependent on firm needs.
