Scheduling Specialist II
Pride Health is hiring a Scheduling Specialist II for one of its clients in California.
This is a 6-month contract with competitive pay and benefits.
Location – Newport Beach, California (92660)
Pay range - $20 - $25 per hour.
Length of assignment – 6 months contract (LOA coverage)
Shift – M - F 9 am - 530 pm; 100% onsite.
Job Summary
The Scheduling Specialist II assists in the coordination of the Patient Procedure/Surgical schedule.
The Specialist II collaborates in the management and scheduling of complex surgical procedures that may require multiple appointments, as well as add-ons and emergent procedures, facilitating communication between patients, physicians, multiple organizational departments, and staff members.
Job Duties
· Collaborates with Insurance Verification Specialists and assists with the authorization process.
· Coordinates with patients in the scheduling of pre-procedure diagnostic tests and clearances, treatment plans, and cycles.
· Creates patient itineraries and makes changes as requested.
· Responsible for clerical support, patient registration, filing, data entry, preparation of patient charts, and other clerical duties as assigned.
· Assists with the master schedule for procedures and coordinates case resource needs.
· Interacts directly with patients and works in a high call volume environment.
· Participates in the continuous quality improvement processes.
· Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, including the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventative maintenance.
· Maintains confidentiality.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of two (2) years' previous scheduling experience in a healthcare setting.
· Full understanding of medical insurance procedures required.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of proper body mechanics and safety measures.
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, plus Healthcare database systems required.
· Strong knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
· Proven ability to interface with all customer levels (Physicians, Staff, Vendors, Patients, Family members.
