PathPoint is currently seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) Aide to join our Community Access Project (CAP) team in Lancaster, CA. CAP is a licensed adult day program that provides skills training and support for adults with physical and developmental disabilities.
As an Aide, you will provide one-to-one support for an individual in the program as they learn skills on community outings and in the classroom. The fun curriculum includes art, music, cooking, gardening, and more. We're looking for creative and compassionate people who are teachers at heart, and we encourage you to bring your own ideas for new curriculum!
Schedule: This is a part-time position for 27.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9:00am-2:30pm.
Starting Pay: This is an hourly position starting at $19.78 per hour. If you are bilingual (Spanish or ASL), the starting wage is $20.08 per hour. The pay range for this position is $16.83-$25.24. The pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors.

What You'll Do:
- Teach individuals social/life skills to help them lead more independent lives, including communication skills, mobility, money management, housing, and public transportation.
- Supervise individuals during hours of instruction and on community outings.
- Build friendly and professional rapport with individuals and act as a positive role model for work habits, communication skills, and social skills.
- Assist individuals who use wheel chairs with mobility needs.
- Assist individuals at mealtime, including serving food and providing assistance with eating and drinking if needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or disadvantages is desirable.
- Experience teaching, coaching or training others is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of programs used for remote communication such as Teams/Zoom.
- Behavioral experience is a plus!
- Must have a valid California driver's license with a satisfactory driving record, 5 years of driving experience, and be eligible for coverage on PathPoint's auto insurance policy.
- Culturally aware, acknowledges diverse employee backgrounds, possesses skills to collaborate across cultures, and avoids biased assumptions based on cultural differences.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
