Job DescriptionEnergy & Clean Technology Associate Attorney(3–5 Years’ Experience)
Location: Washington, D.C.Direct Counsel is seeking a mid-level associate to join a national law firm’s Energy & Clean Technology team in Washington, D.C. This team is widely recognized as a leader in navigating government-backed financings, including high-profile transactions with the Department of Energy Loan Program Office.
This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in a high-volume energy transaction pipeline while working with clients across cutting-edge clean technology sectors.
Key Responsibilities:

Support a robust portfolio of energy-related transactions from origination through closing and post-closing.

Advise clients on government financing programs, including DOE-supported loan transactions.

Navigate regulatory and compliance aspects related to government contracts and clean energy funding.

Collaborate with attorneys across multiple offices and interface with sophisticated clients in dynamic, fast-paced settings.
Preferred Experience:

3–5 years of relevant experience, with a focus on government-supported loans, energy transactions, or clean technology initiatives.

Experience in project management, government contracting, or regulatory compliance is a plus.

Familiarity with the energy and clean technology industries strongly preferred.

Active membership in the District of Columbia Bar required.
Compensation:
$260,000 – $365,000/year, based on qualifications and experience.
