  • You believe in the value of athletics as a means to teach and model the principles of fair play, teamwork, good sportsmanship, effort, and self-improvement.
  • You have the knowledge and experience to teach skills related to the sport that you coach, lead practices and conditioning for individuals and a team.
  • You are passionate about the area that you are coaching and have knowledge and experience with the techniques specific to the sport you are coaching, including strategy, player development, and skills to develop players.
  • You are eager to develop your students love for it too.
  • You are professional, responsible, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
  • You are able to clear TB and Livescan checks before the intended start date.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

We are seeking exceptional individuals to execute the following essential job functions and professional responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the rules, regulations, and expectations of the CIF, OAL, and BACSAC.
  • Oversee all practices and games and supervise the athletes in their use of all facilities.
  • Responsible for the care, issuing, collection, storage and inventory of all equipment and uniforms used in the program.
  • Submit to the AD a complete, cleared roster of team members and full season schedule.
  • Assist in the prevention and care of injuries.
  • Follow the appropriate procedures for budget, purchasing, and transportation.
  • Ensure that all school disciplinary policies are followed.
  • Act as liaison between the school and parents, AD and Leadership.
  • Coordinate any banquets, awards or honors with the Athletic Director.
  • Maintain a relationship with athletes based on mutual respect and trust.

  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance in order to perform essential functions of the role.
  • Foster open and respectful communication, offering and receiving constructive feedback to enhance personal and team performance.
  • Set and hold high expectations for academics and sportsmanship.
  • Develop trusting, authentic relationships with students and their families.
  • Encourage students to take risks and learn from their mistakes and create opportunities for students to leverage the power of their voice.
  • Supervise and engage with students in-person to ensure student safety and development.
  • Uphold and model core values, including purpose, perseverance, productivity, growth mindset, integrity, leadership, joy, gratitude, mindfulness, and kindness.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.

PUBLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYMENT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Pass a Criminal Background Check through the Department of Justice.
  • Obtain a negative TB reading prior to starting employment.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Knowledge of child cognitive development and different learning styles.
  • Ability and willingness to reflect and improve on practice.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions; ability and good judgment to take initiative to modify activities.


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is an on-site position requires sufficient mobility to report to campus, engagement with students, families, and colleagues, with or without reasonable accommodations. The role may involve light lifting, pushing/pulling, standing, sitting, and bending for extended periods. Success in this role requires working well under pressure, meeting deadlines, and adapting to stressful and unpredictable environments. The employee must effectively prioritize and organize tasks while maintaining open and respectful communication with families and community members using school platforms and technology. Attendance and active participation in athletics-related trainings, and other assigned meetings are essential.
