A Coral Gables law firm, specializing in representing homeowners, businesses, homeowners’ associations, and condominium associations in property insurance claims, is seeking a Pre-Litigation Legal Assistant with at least two years of claims handling experience.
The ideal candidate will have some background in the insurance industry, with strong multitasking and time management skills. Organization is essential for this detail-oriented position.
Responsibilities:
- Claims Management: Manage the entire claims process, ensuring procedures are followed and deadlines are met. This involves coordinating with clients, insurance companies, and other parties.
- Reporting and Documentation: Report claims to insurance companies, send letters of representation, and prepare legal documents and complaints related to claims.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular contact with clients, providing updates and addressing any questions or concerns to keep them informed throughout the process.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Organize inspections, EUOs (Examinations Under Oath), mediations, and recorded statements as required.
- Document Collection: Gather and organize relevant claim documents from clients to ensure all necessary information is available.
- Adjuster Communication: Collaborate with insurance adjusters and public adjusters to facilitate the claims process and address any issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
- Strong phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks based on urgency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (minimum 1 year).
- Bilingual (Spanish and English).
- Fast learner with the ability to adapt quickly.
- At least 1 year of experience in pre-litigation.
- Experience with public adjusting or claims adjuster work preferred.
- Knowledge of Clio is a plus.
