ABOUT SOLA IMPACT

SoLa Impact is a real estate private equity firm with a double bottom line strategy focused on preserving, rehabbing, and building high-quality affordable housing in Black and brown communities. SoLa is Southern California's largest for-profit affordable housing developer and is currently in construction on over 2,000 affordable housing units across Southern California. SoLa currently owns and manages over $1.2 billion of multifamily assets, almost all of which are in low-income, Black and brown communities.

SoLa's mission is also culturally significant, driving initiatives that support local food systems and workforce development through culinary excellence, providing opportunities for growth and empowerment within our community. As a Line Cook, you will be instrumental in executing our culinary vision.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented in a timely manner, meeting quality standards of flavor and aesthetics.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and work areas, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management, portioning, and food prep as needed.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain efficient workflow and communication.
  • Participate in menu development by contributing creative ideas and feedback based on customer preferences.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or restaurant setting.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to communicate effectively with others.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a hot and sometimes crowded kitchen environment.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, such as chopping, slicing, and frying.
