Certified Coder (HCC Coder) - Job Details

• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8AM to 5PM
• Work Location: 100% Remote – Safety Sensitive Position
• Pay Rate: $24.65 per hour
• 5 month contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform retrospective chart reviews and validate ICD-10-CM coding accuracy for Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) risk adjustment submissions.
• Ensure completeness and compliance of coding per CMS and internal quality standards.
• Apply clinical documentation standards and industry guidelines to support audit findings.
• Maintain productivity expectations of 225 cases weekly with 95% audit accuracy.
• Utilize Microsoft Office tools and standard industry coding platforms.
• Uphold HIPAA privacy and security regulations during all audit activities.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of relevant coding/auditing experience in a healthcare setting.
• Certification required: CPC, CCS-P, CRC, or equivalent from AAPC/AHIMA.
• AA/AS degree or equivalent work experience.
• Must be proficient in ICD-10-CM and HCC risk adjustment methodology.
• Strong attention to detail, familiarity with CMS guidelines, and experience in retrospective risk adjustment audits.
