WORK ENVIRONMENT:

<li>Work is largely performed in the Illinois Capitol Complex in Springfield, Illinois which is open to the public. Security for the Capitol Complex is provided by the Illinois Secretary of State Police.</li>
<li>The working environment can be noisy, and the building can be congested with constituents, lobbyists, tour groups, and demonstrators.</li>
<li>The person in this position needs to be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, as well as to move about the Capitol complex as necessary.</li>
<li>The person in this position constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.</li>
<li>The person in this position frequently communicates with staff, legislators, lobbyists, and members of the public, and must be able to professionally exchange accurate information in these situations.</li>

Hiring Bonus: $1000 after successful completion of 120 days and an acceptable attendance record.
ABW offers a $2.00 per hour shift differential for swing shift employees.
ABW is looking for intermediate and experienced aluminum and stainless steel TIG Fitter/Welders, who are motivated and take pride in producing quality fabricated parts and meeting or exceeding customer requirements and schedules.
Fitter/Welder candidates must be able to read and understand shop drawings. They will be required to fit and weld components in accordance with weld procedures accounting for weld shrinkage with minimal supervision. All fit-up and welds are inspected by in-house and/or customer CWI’s. ABW administers in-house testing and certification. In addition to welder qualification testing, Fitter/Welders will be evaluated on their ability to read and understand drawings, tolerances, and welding procedures.
Pay rates are based on the number of welding processes and qualified positions that welders are certified for and dependent upon weld test results at time of interview.
Benefits include health, dental, vision and voluntary benefits. 2 weeks of PTO per year to start.
Swing shift: Work four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, 4:30 pm - 2:00 am.
