About UMOM New Day Centers: Founded in 1964, UMOM is Arizona's largest provider of services for families experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to end family homelessness by restoring hope and rebuilding lives. With an annual operating budget of $23 million dollars, UMOM provides shelter, supportive services, and housing programs to families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. UMOM serves over 13,000 unique individuals across all our services annually, including those families receiving support at the Family Housing Hub, Maricopa County's family coordinated entry system.

Position Description: The Family Shelter Manager is responsible for managing the case management of UMOM's Family Shelter and First Responders programs. The position is responsible for enforcing best practices of shelter programming in alignment with our housing and income-based strategies for ending homelessness. This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the Family Shelter Case Management team. The Manager will work in close collaboration with the Director of Family Shelter to ensure fidelity of proven systems for ending family homelessness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Management
<ul>
<li>Manages the daily operations of UMOM's emergency shelter programs, including housing-based case management, basic needs, health and safety, and monitoring census.</li>
<li>Supervises the daily operations of the case management team, including onboarding new clients, case plan development, goal management, and exit planning.</li>
<li>Coaches case managers on building effective housing and employment case plans for all clients in a timely matter.</li>
<li>Oversees the entire client experience including intake process, case management model, and exit planning.</li>
<li>Assist Director in leading weekly staff meetings with case management team to address client barriers, build effective case plans, design exit plans, and create an environment of peer-to-peer learning.</li>
<li>Reviews all incident reports, violations, and rundowns and responds accordingly based on policies.</li>
<li>Connects case managers with the internal and external resources needed to support client's successful exit.</li>
<li>Implements, and maintains policies and processes related to the emergency shelter program.</li>

Experience and Education

<li>Knowledge of non-profit/social sector; experience working with underserved or disadvantaged populations preferred</li>

The Impact You Will Make
 
This role has an opportunity to make a significant impact on our customer's families and loved ones by assisting the funeral team with the transportation of loved ones into our care, and by being present and working as an attendant during services. While you are responsible for keeping the facilities clean, assisting with services, and driving vehicles, you will also be able to assist with some functions related to the coordination of legal and administrative matters associated with funeral service. Under the supervision of a licensed Funeral Director, you will be able to learn the industry and work toward a career path in death care. Your primary focus will be on:

<li>Funeral Home upkeep, (dusting, vacuum, cleaning)</li>
<li>Assisting in funeral services and visitation, including: greeting of visitors, coordinating pallbearers, arranging transport and parking.</li>
<li>Transporting individuals with extreme care</li>

Requirements:

<li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li>
<li>A minimum of 1 year experience in client relations, facilities maintenance or related field.</li>
<li>A strong desire to start a career in mortuary science/end of life planning.</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.</li>
<li>Possesses valid state driver's license.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and customer service skills.</li>
<li>Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with others in a team atmosphere.</li>
<li>Possesses a high degree of concentration and attention for a continuous period of time.</li>
