Founded in 1985, AMIkids Beaufort is a private nonprofit, staff-secure residential facility in Dale, South Carolina, near the historic coastal town of Beaufort. Our program operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, serving young men who have committed a variety of non-violent offenses and are involved with the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. Our kids living in dormitories on campus in a remote location ideally structured to help them work through their issues and gain the needed skills to return to their families and communities.
Originally called Beaufort Marine Institute, the program was started by seven local Beaufort residents who saw an unmet need for a way, and a facility, to redirect kids in trouble. These young men are referred by the juvenile justice system or those who were failing in traditional school settings. AMIkids Beaufort provides a needed second chance for young men who would have otherwise been sent to jail for their offenses.
The Activities Instructor is responsible for the implementation and coordination of experiential and recreational instruction for students, which includes but is not limited to indoor, outdoor, and off-site activities.  The Activities Instructor will supervise student activities as required.  
Essential Job Duties:

<li>Teach and coach Student assigned activities,</li>
<li>Maintains activity plans for area of responsibility and coordinates all activities with the Program Manager/Director of Operations,</li>
<li>Maintain appropriate materials, equipment, and resources,</li>
<li>Evaluates students' knowledge and abilities through both written and practical examinations and certifies students in accordance with relevant certification guidelines,</li>
<li>Maintains records of students' progress in certification and curriculum-based classes.</li>
<li>Maintain relevant industry certifications,</li>
<li>Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certification by nationally recognized organization,</li>
<li>Administer first aid and CPR during emergencies in accordance with National standards, </li>
<li>Attend and maintain appropriate crisis intervention and physical restraint training and certification as defined by state and contract requirements,</li>
<li>Prevent and intervene in student altercations and incidents, using the authorized state mandated training methods,</li>
<li>Ensure safety, supervision, advising, counseling, and role modeling for the students,</li>
<li>Adheres to all contract and state educational guidelines and Quality Improvement requirements,</li>
<li>Actively participates in day trips and special activities that involve recreational sports, facility and equipment cleaning, ground maintenance and equipment relocation,</li>
<li>Ability to obtain and maintain Lifeguard certification and Challenge Course instructor certification,</li>
<li>Transport students and may drive for other work-related tasks,</li>
<li>Position requires driving on a regular basis,</li>
<li>Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Education, Training and Experience
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or equivalent,</li>
<li>Four (4) years related experience (e.g., aquatics instruction, ropes course, etc.).</li>

Position Overview We are looking for coaches who can make our members feel welcome and that theyre an integral part of the hour you spend together. Coaches whose positive energy stays with a member long after theyve left the studio, and they find themselves counting the hours till their next workout. As a Fitness Coach you can expect to perform the following duties:

<li>Leading and motivating members through pre-defined workouts</li>
<li>Helping members set and achieve goals</li>
<li>Making sure members are using correct form and offering corrections if they arent</li>
<li>Understanding the science behind our workouts specifically, heart-rate focused training programs in general, and being aware of what the competition is doing</li>
<li>Knowing how to use and demonstrate usage for every piece of equipment utilized in every workout</li>
<li>Being a team player</li>
</ul>
Additionally, youll need to meet these requirements:

<li>AED/CPR certified</li>
<li>Hold and maintain a current fitness certification</li>
<li>No degree or specific experience is required, we are looking for coachable candidates</li>
