The Assistant Dean for Career Planning and Professional Development provides leadership, management, and direct student and alumni services in the area of career services. <li>Policy Advocacy: Advocate for policies and practices that promote sustainable and equitable urban development. Collaborate with policymakers, government agencies, and community leaders to influence decision-making processes and advocate for the needs of urban communities.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:

<li>A master's or doctoral degree in urban planning, community development, public administration, or a related field.</li>
<li>Experience working in urban communities and a strong understanding of the unique challenges and dynamics of urban development.</li>
<li>Knowledge of community development principles, strategies, and practices, with a focus on sustainability, equity, and social justice.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.</li>

State Specialist for Urban Community Resource Development

The Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the University of Montevallo invites applications for a tenure-track position in history at the level of assistant professor, beginning Fall 2024. The successful candidate must have evidence of potential for scholarship and excellence in teaching. Preference will be given to applicants with specialization in United States and African American History; experience in Women’s History is desirable as well. Candidates must be able to teach a variety of undergraduate courses within their specialization to include World Civilizations, U.S. History Survey, and upper-level electives.
