State Specialist Disaster Health and Wellness Chief

The University of Wisconsin (UW) Primary Care Research Fellowship is recruiting fellows to join the Fall 2023 cohort. This post-doctoral research fellowship is administratively housed within the UW Dept. of Family Medicine and Community Health and led by faculty from this department as well as from General Internal Medicine and General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. The fellowship has been continuously funded by the Health Resources and Service Administration as a T32 for over 30 years, and typically supports 2 years of research career training.&nbsp;&nbsp;
A principal objective of the Primary Care Research Fellowship is to train primary care physicians and PhD scientists interested in careers in medical research related to the organization, delivery, or effectiveness of primary health care and preventive medicine.&nbsp;
Research project completion, published papers, and grant proposals are the main goals for fellows. The fellowship is open to physicians or PhD-level health professionals aiming for research-centered careers who could benefit from 2 years of protected time, intensive mentorship, and research support. Areas of scholarly focus should be related to primary care but are otherwise not restricted. Primary Care Research Fellowship

The Chief of Endocrinology will provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the&nbsp;Division. The Division Chief will be responsible for all planning, policy, operations, and&nbsp;oversight of academic, research, and clinical programs of the Division. The Chief of Endocrinology&nbsp;will have financial authority over the division&nbsp; budget, including extramural research and&nbsp;philanthropic funding received and other financial matters for the division, in accordance with&nbsp;applicable University policies and practices. The Chief of Endocrinology will have discretion in&nbsp;the recruitment and retention of division faculty who will have a direct reporting line. Gross Anatomy is taught in the first semester and is focused on team-teaching and, as such, faculty have adequate time to engage in research and/or writing. Course description:&nbsp;Gross and Developmental Anatomy focuses on the gross structure of organs and their function, and through clinical correlations, relates each to clinical medicine.&nbsp; An Anatomical Learning Resource Center has been established to utilize computer-based instruction, anatomical models, radiographic materials as well as supervised laboratory sessions dissecting various parts of the human body.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Students study the structure and function of all organs with some interaction with cellular structure.&nbsp; This course incorporates an understanding of how embryological processes give rise to the mature body form.&nbsp; When this course is complete, each student will have extensive knowledge of the gross anatomy and development of the entire human body as it relates clinically to the practice of medicine.

<li>Provide oversight of the admissions process, student recruitment and orientation</li>
<li>Encourage student excellence in both didactic and clinical years that fosters a positive student experience in the program</li>
<li>Recruit and support a diverse group of students and learners</li>
<li>Work with program faculty, Medical Director to promote and enhance student retention and pathways for remediation</li>
<li>Provide direction for program strategic planning and development, with an attention to the analysis of comprehensive program data</li>
<li>Work with the program directors/chairs and the Director of Simulation Education Center in the Borra College of Health Sciences to develop and implement collaborative interprofessional experiences in the college</li>
<li>Supervision of the medical director, principal and instructional faculty, and staff in activities that directly relate to the PA program including regular review of PAS committee duties and actions</li>
<li>Create and maintain effective relationships with outside stakeholders, particularly for the development and maintenance of clinical affiliations</li>
<li>Foster future growth and expansion of program</li>
<li>Perform other duties as requested, delegated or assigned</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>A graduate of an accredited physician assistant program with a current NCCPA certification and eligibility for licensure in Illinois</li>
<li>At least seven years of clinical experience as a practicing PA with a thorough understanding of the physician assistant role and practice</li>
<li>Minimum of five years of full-time faculty experience and three years of full-time experience in a PAS program with teaching responsibilities at the graduate level</li>
<li>Previous experience with the ARC-PA accreditation process for physician assistant programs</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Previous experience in education leadership such as Program Director, Associate Program Director, Academic Director, Clinical Director or another director-level role</li>
<li>Demonstrated leadership in the PAS field; Record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, service and fostering empirical research.</li>
<li>Have a vision and the interpersonal skills to build partnerships within and outside the PAS program, and state and regional partners and stakeholders.</li>

Interim Program Director, Physician Assistant Studies

Description The University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is seeking one (1) full-time pathologist for appointment to join our Hematopathology Division on the School of Medicine’s clinician-teacher pathway. The qualified candidate will become the Division Head of Hematopathology, CAP/CLIA director of the Hematopathology Laboratory and Quality Director of the Clinical Trials/Developmental Hematopathology subdivision. Clinical responsibilities will include reporting of morphology for lymph nodes, tissues, bloods and marrows, as well as flow cytometry (diagnostic and minimal residual disease testing) and may include molecular diagnostic testing, hemoglobin electrophoresis and coagulation reporting, depending on the interests of the candidate. Educational activities include teaching hematology / hematopathology to students, technologists, residents and fellows. &nbsp;Applicants are expected to be involved in administrative aspects of the lab, including new test development, and develop an area of focused research / scholarly work.
This appointment may be at the rank of Associate or full Professor, without tenure due to reasons of funding. Salary and academic appointment at University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.
The base salary range for this position will be: Associate Professors: $21,903 to $30,049 per month ($262,831 to $360,592 annually); Professors: $26,023 to $39,377 per month ($312,274 to $472,526 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.&nbsp;
Other compensation associated with this position may include an administrative salary supplement for administrative service as division head.&nbsp;
Associate and Full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This position remains open until filled with an anticipated start date of January 1, 2024, but is flexible.

Qualifications Candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. (or foreign equivalent) and be Board-eligible or –certified in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology (American Board of Pathology). The candidate should additionally either be Board-eligible or –certified in Hematopathology. Subspecialty expertise in Hematopathology is required. Must qualify for a license to practice medicine in Washington State. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
