POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a motivated, driven, aggressive, and detail-oriented Legal Associate with a strong passion for Medical Malpractice, Nursing Home Negligence, and personal injury law. The ideal candidate will support our attorneys in managing a caseload from intake through trial or settlement, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel. They must be detail-oriented associates with a background in Florida medical malpractice law who can independently handle all phases of complex medical malpractice litigation while working closely with senior attorneys and clients.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Manage and handle medical malpractice cases in state and federal court, from notice of intent through trial and appeal.</li>
<li>Analyze medical records with collaborating medical experts to develop case strategies.</li>
<li>Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, reports, and trial/settlement documents.</li>
<li>Take and defend fact and expert witness depositions.</li>
<li>Communicate with clients to provide updates, gather information, and offer legal support.</li>
<li>Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials as needed.</li>
<li>Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.</li>
<li>Consult with healthcare clients to provide status updates, legal advice, and case strategy insights.</li>

Requirements:
Education
<ul>
<li>J.D. (JD) degree from an accredited law school</li>

Core Competencies

In this role, you will be an integral part of a POD, working closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and case managers to support a variety of legal personal injury tasks. This includes handling discovery, depositions, motions, negotiation, mediation, arbitration, hearings, jury and bench trials.
 
Collaborate with attorneys and fellow paralegals on research and writing tasks related to a substantial caseload and other firm needs. Actively participate in the litigation department and contribute to our clients' robust representation across the firm. Additionally, you will help train new and/or offshore employees.
 
The ideal candidate will adhere to the firm's Standard Operating Procedures while actively seeking ways to improve existing processes.
