Hydraulic Field Service Technician

<h3>Job Description</h3>
Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician with strong mechanical aptitude to support manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy taking apart, assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and working directly on machines rather than performing design or office-based engineering work.
The technician will support continuous production operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, setting up, and improving automatic and semi-automatic manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Install, modify, move, troubleshoot, repair, and dismantle machinery and manufacturing equipment following SOPs, layout plans, and blueprints.</li>
<li>Assemble mechanical units, fabricated components, and electrical/electronic systems into sub-assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, and fixtures.</li>
<li>Perform equipment setup, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies, circuits, and components.</li>
<li>Operate, monitor, and adjust machines while tracking gauges, meters, valves, temperatures, pressures, and process parameters.</li>
<li>Support production as a Machine Operator, Production Technician, and Assembly Technician as required.</li>
<li>Complete preventive maintenance (PMs) and document work using the AMMS/CMMS system to ensure equipment uptime and compliance.</li>
<li>Work closely with engineers and production staff to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and minimize waste.</li>
<li>Follow all safety, PPE, OSHA, and biohazard procedures when working in regulated manufacturing areas.</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications
<ul>
<li>5+ years of hands-on mechanical or manufacturing technician experience OR</li>
<li>Associate Degree (Technical or Engineering) with 1+ year relevant experience</li>
<li>Strong mechanical skills with experience using hand tools and power tools</li>
<li>Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings, SOPs, and work instructions</li>
<li>Experience maintaining or repairing production or industrial equipment</li>

<li>Face to face, telephone, and electronic communication with territory salesperson, strategic business personnel, sales managers, contractors, designers, specifiers, or officials of codes and approvals</li>
<li>Competent written communication with customers (buying and non-buying); such communication must be technically accurate, minimize Hilti's exposure, and demonstrate common sense problem solving capabilities</li>
<li>Visit jobsites and company offices with or without salespeople or strategic business personnel to assess application problems, opportunities, and provide technical education and solutions</li>
<li>Investigate product failures in the field and provide product management feedback on local issues as needed</li>
<li>Investigate business opportunities in the field by participating in Customer Surveys as needed for product and market development</li>

<li>Provide competent recommendations to engineers, architects, and other designers on specific applications using sound engineering judgment; educate specifier on technical advantages of Hilti solutions not covered by test data</li>
<li>Provide field testing to determine appropriate capabilities in situations not covered by test data</li>
<li>Review project specifications or calculations for engineers and architects; provide feedback to designers regarding accuracy, suitability, and code compliance</li>
<li>Utilizing software provided by Hilti, maintain accurate records of contacts and specifications; coordinate with salesforce to ensure that key opportunities are capitalized on</li>
<li>Create and coordinate jobsite management within CRM system utilizing Hi Site; includes creation of specific jobsites, applications, and active participation in the monthly sales management meetings</li>
<li>Communicate application specifications with design community to sales team utilizing CRM system, assigning tasks and action items to applicable Account Managers for conversion of specification to sale</li>
<li>Maintain and update regional fact-base and contacts of designers, influencers, and code officials Work with local/regional code and approval agencies to obtain necessary approvals</li>
<li>Understand construction methods and local building codes, as they relate to Hilti products</li>
<li>Provide input on technical approvals and reports related to Hilti's products</li>
<li>Active in local organizations of the design and construction community, i.e. CSI, ASCE, Structural Engineer's Association</li>
