The Role:
Ora's Clinical Research Coordinator I (CRC I) has close relationships with the subjects who participate in our clinical trials located regionally, domestically, and at times, internationally. You will travel with a team of other CRCs to clinical sites as assigned to conduct world-class research using proprietary methodologies. Once onsite, our CRC I's will administrate various technician-based tasks by collecting, recording, and organizing subject and research information during clinical research study visits while ensuring compliance with clinical project protocol and overall clinical objectives. Our CRC I's will partner with tenured Clinical Research Coordinators and Clinical Project Managers to execute protocol directives and work cross-functionally with internal and external teams such as other Research Coordinators and Investigators. 
What You'll Do:

<li>Participate in a 3 week-long introductory onboarding (part virtual, part in person) to prepare to learn and demonstrate mastery in various introductory skill sets required to begin clinic work</li>
<li>Travel to research sites as assigned for study visits to prepare for or continue clinical study conduct</li>
<ul>
<li>Participate in study start-up activities such as putting together charts, pulling patient charts, ensuring site cleanliness</li>
<li>Contribute to and maintain study documents, including source documentation, case report forms, and regulatory documentation</li>
</ul>
<li>Perform various tasks (post-onboarding) such as use of proprietary technology, performing the Informed Consent process, documenting medical history and medications, taking vitals, scribing for medical staff, dispensing study drug, performing allergy skin tests, documenting controlled environment stats, and other ophthalmic assessments</li>
<li>Prioritize and deliver an exceptional subject experience, putting subject safety and protocol adherence to the forefront of your work</li>
<li>Collaborate with on-site staff, whether they be other Ora team members or clinic-based staff and Investigators</li>
<li>Performs patient screening, recruitment, and enrollment</li>
<li>Perform clinical skills identified in the SOP at study visits</li>

<li>Participate in various parallel and compounding trainings to continue advancement of required clinic skills</li>

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist Lead at our facility you will be an integral part of our Laboratory team. We are a highly functioning team that supports many different departments and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing. In this role: 
· You will be responsible for receiving blood specimens, performing blood tests, and studying the morphology of the components of blood. 
· You will perform various routine or special clinical laboratory tests in several sections of the Laboratory using automated equipment, manual testing, and microscopic analysis to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. 
· You will be responsible for maintaining and using various equipment in the Laboratory including automated, chemistry analyzers, ion-specific electrodes, osmometers, and other analyzers. 
· You will perform antibody screening, antibody identification, and cross-matching procedures required in the administration of blood/blood components and identify antibodies in donors or patient’s blood that could react adversely during transfusion. 
· You will notify nursing units and/or physicians of critical lab values. 
· You will implement new testing methods, products, and instrumentation as appropriate to keep department current with technology. 
Qualifications: 
· Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), or related sciences including a practical training program. 
o Associate’s degree is acceptable with appropriate years of experience. 
· Nationally recognized certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS or MLT) from the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent. 
· 3-5 years of laboratory experience. 
· American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.

Lead Medical Lab Scientist

<h3>Job Description</h3>
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The registered professional nurse Home Therapies RN CAP 1 is an entry level designation into the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This position is accountable and responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for an assigned group of patients. Assesses and manages patients’ response to home dialysis training and treatment therapy by following prescribed predetermined protocols and communicates patient related issues to the physician as needed. As a member of the End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) health care team, this position participates in decision-making, teaching, leadership functions, and quality improvement activities that enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
All duties and responsibilities are expected to be performed in accordance with Fresenius Kidney Care policy, procedures, standards of nursing practice, state and federal regulations.

· Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor with guidance from the Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with another Registered Nurse.
· Performs ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of dialysis data for assigned patients and documents in the patient medical record, makes adjustments or modifications to treatment plan as indicated and notifies Supervisor or physician as needed.
· Assesses, collaborates and documents patient/family’s basic learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education to patients and family.
· Directs and provides, in collaboration with the patient, home care partner, direct and ancillary patient care staff, all aspects of the provision of safe and effective delivery of dialysis therapy to assigned patients.
· Administers medications as prescribed or in accordance with approved algorithm(s), and documents appropriate medical justification and effectiveness.
· Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
· Serves as a resource for health care team, participates in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned.
· Ensures correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping procedures are performed and reschedules missed or insufficient laboratory collections.
· Identifies expected outcomes, documents and updates the nursing assessment and plan of care for assigned patients through collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
· Ensures patient awareness related to transplant and treatment modality options.
· Assists in the identification, evaluation, selection and education of Home Dialysis candidates and Home Partners.
· Performs assessment and identifies barriers of the Home Dialysis candidate’s home environment and partner / family readiness and ability to perform dialysis treatments in the home.
· Trains Home Dialysis patients and / or Home Partners on the safe, effective operation and maintenance of all Home Dialysis equipment and treatment supplies through an organized and formal Home Dialysis Training Program.
· Required to complete CAP requirements to advance.

EDUCATION and LICENSURE:

· Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.
